TweeterEssay dealing with "Number 8", a short story written by Jack Ritchie.
Extract:
The story takes a slight turn here. The author wants to draw the attention to the narrator... A character we had quite forgotten because of his lack of reaction. And that is the one thing the author wants us to think about: the narrator's mysterious behaviour. Now that we come to think of it, we do not know anything about him: his name, his origins, what he does for a living, where he is heading to, what he thinks. What is even more puzzling is that he finally seems to “wake up” and decides to talk casually to the frightening kid. Has he not noticed the kid's weird attitude? Is he completely oblivious to the fact that the boy next to him fits perfectly the serial killer's physical description? Why is he not scared? (...)
