Résumé
“The CPE is the lesser evil. (…) The risk of abuse under the CPE doesn't outweigh the risk of maintaining exaggerated unemployment”. Discuss. 813 words.
Extract:
For the moment, the CPE is a burning question which launches lots of polemics. The scope of the reactions was especially striking last Thursday (the 28th) when two million people decided to protest in the streets of France. The main goal of this new contract which is addressed to the young people is to reform the labour market in order to resolve the problem of unemployment. But the methods employed by the government of Mr de Villepin to make the law come through and the CPE itself are the target of many criticisms.
Should we consider like the author of the following sentence that “the CPE is the lesser evil” and that “the risk of abuse under the CPE doesn't outweigh the risk of maintaining exaggerated unemployment”? Or contrary to this point of view, would it be better to join the large anti-CPE movement and expect a more convincing alternative?
