The title of the novel
Wide Sargasso Sea refers to a sea who is very calm. There is no wind at all and many boats were trapped in this sea and couldn't get away because of the absence of wind.
In this novel, Antoinette Cosway, who is the main character, relate her childhood at coulibri estate and her life with Rochester, her English husband.
