For the end of my second year in Purpan, I've done my internship in a Montana Ranch.
Montana is called The Big Sky Country because of open field landscape at the foot of the Rockies Mountains, is the northwest of the USA.
Montana is about 381 156 km² big with 2,39 inhabitants per km² and the main town is Billings.
Located in Melville, The WD Ranch is 193 km far away from Billings. There is 66 counties in Montana and Melville belongs to the Sweet Grass County.
The size of the WD Ranch, with 1000 heads of cattle, is larger than the average Melville community ranches, which is 500 heads of cattle.
The climate is involved by the Rockies Mountains nearby, this means a slight rainfall with only 17 inches per year. The Chenoock winds from the Pacific Ocean are warm enough to let the cows graze in winter pasture. A cow needs at least 4 acres to graze (...)
