Résumé
The beginning of chapter 10 actually echoes the end of chapter 9. Haunted by the thoughts of how he ruined so many lives, Victor escapes to the Valley of Chamounix to rest and recover his senses. But when he reaches the summit of the Montanvert, the monster appears...
Chapter 10 is interesting for several reasons: first of all because it reveals the very 1st encounter between the Creator and its creature, and also because the passage, according to the romantic movement, is imbued with feelings. Keeping this 2 main ideas in mind, I will try to show that oppositions / contrasts are recurrent all along the passages through the feelings / attitudes of the characters but also through the structure of the chapter itself.
