Résumé
The airline companies and the SNCF seek in their offer management of displacement a maximization of their profit, like each company in a competitive market. Admittedly, the SNCF is forced by its public obligation of service, but it enters during one time when it will have to face an increasingly competing market.
The user's logic of displacements is different. Its single objective is of going from a point to another, this by the best possible means. What means better? It depends on the quality of the user and generally utilizes parameters like the journey time, the price, service on board means of transport, availability of reservation, frequency and schedule. After the study of these various criteria, the user will be capable to choose between the train and the plane.
