Résumé
This work deals with the cultural and artistic links binding Paris, London and NYC between 1880 and 1920, through an analysis of the post industrial revolution context of these growing cities. The question of the birth of Modernism and the perception of the city (positive or negative, as opposed to a traditional rural way of life) are analysed. The document widely uses literary and historical quotations.
