Résumé
Crédit Agricole's strategic plan considers the company in its globality. Because it is important to set up a comprehensive view of the company in order to have a coherent strategy and tactics adapted to the wills of the company.
Thus, strategic plan gathers two dependent tasks: strategy (i.e. formulation by Crédit Agricole of the main objectives to succeed in its plan) and tactics (i.e. implementation of the strategy, means set up to reach this strategy).
« Strategy requires thought; tactics require observation ». Max Euwe
In order to optimize its strategy, the formulation must take into account the opportunities and threats of the external environment, but also the forces and weaknesses of Crédit Agricole, culture of the company and waitings of the consumers.
Thus, we know that companies of the same field of activity can have various strategies, each one depending on different opportunities, and adapted to internal forces and weaknesses, and talents of the main persons in charge.
Concerning Crédit Agricole, it seems interesting to re-examine the existing strategy and to set up a common strategic plan for all of the Crédit Agricole branches, in order to merge its computer systems in each branch, so that they are all intergrated. This change of strategy supposes strategic implications which will have an impact on the company and its customers.
In order to establish this strategic plan, and to work out optimal recommendations, I will proceed with an analysis of the external environment; then, I will study the internal environment to be able to work out the missions statements and tactics which come out from this strategic plan.
