Résumé

Nowadays, thanks to the development of all the new technologies, the transportations and the communication network, it seems more and more complicate to give the exact definition of a community and of its borders.

In order to clarify the concept of community we will first explain how we went from an organic community, based on survival interest, to our contemporary community, based on smaller interest, we will analyze the importance of a community in the creation and formation of one's identity then. And to conclude we will underline the similarities and the divergences between the concepts of a community and a society.
