Résumé
Science and technology have made great strides in recent years. Nowadays lots of medically assisted reproduction methods exist in the countries that are enough developed. Actually we could consider its as a normal evolution regarding to the power of the human being technology. But contrary to other technologies like the atomic bomb or the possibility to travel trough the space, biotechnology and more precisely medically assisted reproduction methods concern the human life itself. Indeed, it concerns the fact to give birth to a little person; it means that all the people or at least those who have the desire to build a family should feel concerned.
That is the reason why these new techniques ahead of the time have evoked great interest among the public as well as in the medical and legal profession and have brought about lots of debates in almost all the countries that are able to practice them. These ethical and legal discourses are necessary for societies to develop and form their responses to such medical innovation.
Among all the different medically assisted reproduction methods, one is considered by most of the people as a modern technology but it has existed for a long time. The one I am talking about is the artificial insemination. I found it very interesting to study because although this method seems to be quite old, it still brings away lot of ethical issues and especially when it deals with sperm donation.
Thus, the essay will deal in a first part with a short presentation of the Artificial Insemination by Donor (AID). Then the second and the third part of the assignment will take into consideration the dilemmas. First of all with the different arguments that are proposed, and then, with real cases that occurred all over the world.
