Résumé

Analysis of men's role to transform what's going wrong in our society. As we have seen during the course, women are facing different issues in the workplace as well as in the classroom and the society. But we have also learnt that men were not facing that kind of problems and even sometimes, they are creating these problems. At many times in a woman's life, what she does or did is less valued than what a man does or did. This is the concept of patriarchy. It means that even for a job that is done in a similar way, if a man does it, it will be considered as more valuable than if a woman does it. As a result to this concept, we can analyse, by reading the book patriarchy as a conceptual trap1, that most of our history and most of our culture is a consequence to men's superiority in the hierarchy of the society. So this has created some problems in the relationships and the behaviour between men and women. This situation obviously has to change and as long as men are in the more powerful position, they are the only one who can make these changes happen. And this is our topic.

To answer this question, we have to think about it in different levels: relationships between men and women, organization and society. So what are exactly the major problems of gender in those three levels? What kind of changes can help to avoid these issues? What can men do, as they are the only ones who can effectively do something, to implement these planned changes?
