Study on three articles : the first one was published in an English magazine, the next one is an article is from an American newspaper and the last one is from a French newspaper. This corpus of document will enable us to illustrate a current problem of society, obesity, reaching the majority of “rich countries” such as the United States of America, France – and the whole European Union as well - and recently China. Indeed, obesity, known for long in the USA, is mainly conveyed thanks or because of globalisation among other factors. However, this problem does not only exist in the USA, nor in other English-speaking countries like Ireland or the United Kingdom, but also in other European countries like France or Germany, and in Eastern countries like China, Russia or Japan as well. What is at stake with such a disease? What is its current and actual scale? How has it evolved over the past years? Why is it so important to deal with? The first article gives a quick overall presentation of the issue along with some solutions. On the other hand, the second article only focuses on the concerning Chinese case compared to other countries and finally, the last article concentrates on the French situation, sticking objectively to the facts in a different way from the two previous ones.
