Due to the development of new technologies and the globalisation, the internet is increasingly important in our way of living and shopping; a BBC survey (2006) showed that 24 million UK consumers shopped online in 2005 spending on average £816 each during the year. Kotler and Keller (2005) argue that marketers and especially retailers, such as Amazon or Tesco, see in this new way of communication a mean to improve their profitability.
