Study on the governance of the french educational system. The different decision levels are analysed and described in an analytical way. The French educational system has a reputation to be strongly centralised. The reputation is not entirely justified though, because there have been steps taken in the direction of decentralisation in 1982. To what extent each level of decision making is involved in the model of the governance of education in France ?
